But the backdrops peel and the sets give way and the cast get eaten by the play, there's a murderer at the matinee, there are dead men in the aisles

And the patrons and the actors too are uncertain if the show is through and with sidelong looks await their cue, but the frozen mask just smiles

Listening to Ron Paul I get the feeling that Obama will inevitably wind up sending more troops out to the world trying to police the rest of the world than Bush did.

I heard some of the responses to Obama's inauguration from around the world on CNN, and I swear it's spooky.

Words like he'll bring peace to the world were repeated a lot.

This whole bring peace to the whole world crap makes him sound like a god which as a Christian makes him sound a lot like the Anti-christ. Not saying he is, but when the whole world starts acting like this guy is the greatest thing since sliced bread it makes me nervous. Something isn't too natural about this.

Listen, you're trying to convince me, of all people, that he sounds like what?

There's nothing supernatural about it. It is well-wishing certainly, when you hear all the hopes and amazement of the true believers. Ron Paul is certainly not one of those-you did hear him pointing out how Obama is just going to give us bigger government which creates more problems correct? Hardly his biggest fan there.

As for those rabid fans? Consider how many enemies the Bush administration has made over the last eight years. Even you can see how ANYBODY new could bring about some healing in the realm of foreign relations, even if you're just hating on the guy with the funny name. That healing could certainly be called bringing peace to the world. It's mostly hype if not drinking the kool-aid, but it has realistic merit none the less.

I guess we'll see if it's just hype in the coming months. If it is it's cool off by next year for sure.

I've never seen the world go on about one man so much though.

I'm ok with Jesus.

Reagan was popular, but I don't think the whole world was happy about his presidency from day one. After all Reagan was one of those dreaded cowboys the elitists like to look down upon.

MJ was popular back in the day, I give you that, but he had no power to speak of. Only the nuts looked to him for world peace.
