I think sometimes people think that if you can't figure out God, or answer all those huge questions that follow, that he must not exist, but by definition God is above us and thus can't be brought down to our level of reasoning.
My personal belief is that God is love, creator, Savior. He's not just what I believe He is though no more than my belief alone can change the shape of a mountain. He is what he is. Like the good book says, "I am that I am. If people want to know God they have to come to Him on his terms. __________________
