The Israeli government has apologized for sending the press a link to an online video parodying last week's deadly commando raid on a flotilla of pro-Gaza activists. The video, which promptly went viral, has stirred up further outrage about the fallout from the raid, with some calling for the video's apparent creator, a Jerusalem Post columnist, to be fired for spoofing the circumstances of an attack claiming nine fatalities.

The video shows people dressed up as Gaza activists, some in Arab-looking attire, singing "We Con the World" to the tune of the Michael Jackson hit "We Are the World" — with the "we" being the activists seeking to break Israel's blockade of Gaza. Waving knives and batons, the faux-activists sing: "We'll make the world abandon reason / We'll make them believe that the Hamas is Momma Teresa," and, "As Allah has shown us / For facts there's no demand." You can watch the video here:

I actually think it's pretty funny.

Not funny at all.

Just my opinion but I think if they left Israel alone, there wouldn't be any violence.

It's not as simple as that. Both sides are claiming victim. Another view is that it's actually Israel that should be leaving them alone. As far as I can tell, Israel has no claim to that land other than a holy text and comparing the numbers along the lines of who's lost what, Israel definitely stands out as the bullies and oppressors. On the flip side of your coin, I'd say that if Israel stopped treating their holy text as a real estate deed, there wouldn't be any violence.

Your issue is with the Bible and not the people of Israel. They have a legitimate government and deserve the right to exist without being physically attacked. I'll be the first to admit I'm not an expert on the Middle East, but as far as I can tell Israel is the closest thing to America as there is there as far as their democracy and way of life. Just imagine if we as Americans were surrounded by enemies. Well wait a minute, we may be. I just read the other day Mexican drug pushers are marching across all the way through Arizona. They actually put up a sign closing park land to Americans because their safety can't be guaranteed.

Not being an expert on these things is par for the course here. I think perhaps the lines are being blurred as far as what is going on with Israel. On the one hand, they are our allies and they are surrounded by mostly hostile entities. On the other however, we have the Gaza strip(and the rather nasty incident in open waters with the supply ship recently), where they are the hostiles.

My issue is not the Bible at all, not for this. I'm going strictly by the numbers and the information I've been given. In fact, I would say your opinion is being at least partially manipulated because of the Bible, not mine. You're either not getting the whole story because of your chosen news source(s), or you're avoiding what might be putting Israel in a negative light.

That is unfortunate about Arizona, but that is another topic altogether with a whole other set of circumstances and participants.

Well I freely admit most of my view of Israel comes from the Bible, but recently I have learned a lot about Israel in biblical times in my Western Civilization class too. Well a little bit anyways. Taken 3 classes right now condensed into 2 months. Once I take a test and it's done, I can't seem to retain much. I'm sure the information is still there though waiting for when I need it.

The closes I got to middle east experience, my PHP class was mostly filled with Egyptians here in America to get degrees to make more money. They weren't too happy with the government. They said it was not very free at all there. I don't think they wanted to go back to Egypt.

I'm constantly reading books and I have a similar problem with retention of those.  I feel your pain.
