After studying the ancient Spartans in Western Civilization, I have to say those guys were really creepy. I haven't seen the movie they made about them, the 300, but the commercial made them look like they were supposed to be warriors.
Truth of history is they would leave any babies out to die they thought didn't mesh with their idea of health.
Boys were taken at the age of 7 to be trained in military ways, but yet get this were not allowed to wear underwear. The Spartans molested the boys all through their youth.
The boys were also taught to steal to survive.
I don't know about you, but the Spartans sound like a bunch of wild animals not warriors. I haven't seen the movie, but I have to say it would seem like Hollywood to make a bunch of weirdos look good.
Anybody that has seen the movie please speak up and correct me if I'm wrong.
