There's a huge debate going on about this all over the internet, cable, blogs and to a lesser extent, YouTube. It's got a lot of people across geological, political and theological spectrums very upset with each other right now.
I've had two friends on Facebook start off in the direction of what I hear mostly from the people who say they have a right to build there, case closed. You can't step on his right to worship and because of the first amendment, he has every right to build this thing. When I explained to them there was more to this than just religious expression, they just kind of blanked out and refused to go any further.
Yes, he has his freedoms same as we do, and they're important to keep and uphold but there is alot more to it.
Suffice it to say that this time I actually have to break my ban on making videos and am in the process of writing the 'script' for one right now addressing all of the opposition's arguments that I encountered in those videos and their responses and the magazine articles and blogs, etc. I'm about 2/3 done. Looks like it's going to be about 10 pages long just to cover their arguments, and I haven't gotten to my own arguments yet, except those covered in response to theirs. I hope the finished product will fit in the 15 minute time limit. Wish me luck. Be glad I'm not my old snarky self for this exercise: my argument would have simply been that firemen should burn it to the ground. It'll be a bit nicer than this. I promise. __________________But the backdrops peel and the sets give way and the cast get eaten by the play, there's a murderer at the matinee, there are dead men in the aisles
And the patrons and the actors too are uncertain if the show is through and with sidelong looks await their cue, but the frozen mask just smiles
