We are still quite a long ways away even from a primary, never mind the actual election for the office, but these candidates are already making news, making noise and making promises. I thought it might be a good idea to collect articles and videos in one place for each one, whether supportive or destructive for each. Everyone can play along.
Let's build a case for/against Ron Paul. __________________

Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) on the challenges in reining in government spending.
"There’s going to be an inflation tax to hit us and I am just afraid there will be people in the streets when they don’t get what they want," Paul told the FOX Business Network.
Wants to rein in entitlements. __________________

The thing that Ron Paul has in his favor is he's very smart on money, and in my opinion he's really believes in the policies he stand behind. That right there is enough to earn my respect at the very least. __________________

You might also appreciate (while I don't) that he is not a believer in evolution and will do everything in his power to overturn Roe V. Wade.
That being said, yes, he is definitely one of the most consistent politicians I've ever seen and several of his political stances are highly agreeable to me. __________________

Ron Paul talks to my favorite online doctor, Dr. Mercola.

This is an ugly and unfortunate 'coincidence'.

Seriously, what about all the guys that died to give us freedom. We should ignore that? If the guy ran up 400 grand then he did get a lot of treatment didn't he? Could it be he died despite the treatment he was receiving? The problem I see is not that he needed free health coverage to live, the problem was that healthcare costs so much, and just because the government pays for it doesn't make it cheaper, that just makes taxes higher for everyone, even the poor. __________________

The point was that one particular death brought up during what was supposed to be an impartial debate, it's connection to Ron Paul and his position on related topics.
I'm going to leave the healthcare stuff to the healthcare thread we haven't finished with. __________________

Ron Paul wins California straw poll.
Texas Rep. Ron Paul won a California straw poll, the state Republican Party announced in a statement Saturday night.
A total of 833 ballots were cast during the straw poll, the statement said.
Paul won with 44.9% of the votes, Texas Gov. Rick Perry came in second with 29.3% of the votes, and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney came in third with 8.8% of the votes.
He has gained momentum in the race for the White House in recent weeks, according to the latest CNN/ORC International Poll. Among current GOP candidates, Paul placed third in the poll with 13%, following Romney in second place with 21% and Perry in first with 32%.
I have to admit it wouldn't kill me to have Ron Paul win the nomination. __________________

The most intelligent thing done by any of the GOP candidates so far. Yes, it's a half hour long but consider it payback for only getting 90 seconds in one of the last debates.

He uses Rush to bring home his point, but what would Rush say about Ron Paul's positions. I don't think I've heard anything from Rush, but it would be interesting to hear what Rush had to say about this commercial.
At this point I'm about like every other conservative I'm favoring Newt, but honestly I was wondering why Newt was having such issues getting ahead based on his ability to debate. You have to admit he is a great debater. __________________
