It's a day late but funny -

Jenifer Woodward Johnson is going as a democrat this Halloween. So all neighborhood children need to stop by my house and give me a percentage of your candy.

I take it you will then be taking the candy to less privledged children who didn't have the gumption to be born into the better neighbor hood where the trick or treating is so good.

Republicans won't want to increase their tax burden, so just send the poor kids the wrappers and they can lace up their boot straps and fill those wrappers themselves and experience the full American spirit of the holiday.

But the backdrops peel and the sets give way and the cast get eaten by the play, there's a murderer at the matinee, there are dead men in the aisles

And the patrons and the actors too are uncertain if the show is through and with sidelong looks await their cue, but the frozen mask just smiles

Or the less privileged kids can go trick or treating at the better neighborhood. I lived in a good neighborhood as a kid, but I walked for miles trick or treating, and if walking isn't safe I'm sure even poor kids have relatives with cars.

REally, you live four miles from the inner city?  And that is a big assumption that they have relatives with cars and time to take them trick or treating.

It's entirely possible that said relative's care is already required to ferry people to various second jobs needed to make ends meet.
