I remember an episode of the 1985 Twilight Zone that took a surprisingly different twist on the usual anti-war sentiment you usually find in sci-fi shows. Sure no one likes war and they shouldn't, but you have to be aware of your enemies' intentions.

Case in point in this 1st episode of the 1980's Twilight Zone revival entitled "Small Talent for War" an alien ambassador comes to earth to warn the human race that earth has a very "small talent for war", and that they will be destroyed. Of course the leaders of the world assume that this alien race is only angered by the human race's inhumanity to man and quickly begins to disarm. In the shocking end however the alien ambassador only laughs as the people of earth with their very small talent for war had just made their destruction all the more easier. They truly did have a small talent for war. The earth had after all taken down all their weapons.

Another great one from the original Twilight Zone called "Obsolete Man" proving the dangers of a government declaring God unreal, denying truth, or denying man's right to think.

In this episode the State puts on trial a liberarian, and declares God to be non-existant. The liberarian is sentenced to death. The liberarian turns the tables on the representative of the state in the end.
Scary how close our government is getting, thanks to groups like the ACLU, to a Twilight Zone episode.
