Political Discussion / Politics / President / Arnold Schwarzenegger for President

I am not happy with the choices we have thus far for President.  If Arne could run I would vote for him in a second, but I'm not thrilled with the idea of amending the Constitution for one man.

Article 2 of the US Constitution states:

“No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.”

I hate to disagree with you, but as much as I love Arnold movies I don't think I'd want Arnie for Pres. He's been too liberal on spending and social issues. I still like him, and all but I think I'm rooting for Fred Thompson. I'm hoping he turns out to be as conservative as I think he is.

It's hard for me to say that about Arnold too, he's inspired me in my workouts just like Sly Stallone. Both those guys are like my heroes. Terminator and Rambo. That would have been a great movie.

I don't really know that much about Fred Thompson.  Is he in the running?

Yep, he's been real high on the conservative hopeful list. He's just been taking it real slow. He's scheduled to get in the race in September officially. I think he's waiting for some others to drop out. A little risky strategy, but it might just work for him. Might cost less money that way.
