Hardly a huge surprise, but worth watching just the same.

And the patrons and the actors too are uncertain if the show is through and with sidelong looks await their cue, but the frozen mask just smiles

Ron Paul...even when I think he's a nut, he is probably the most consistent politician in recent memory. This is no surprise.

i just cant believe he had any sympathy for the candidacy of our resident kook McKinney or that socialist Nader

I wouldn't call it sympathy so much as cutting loose the poor system we have. He really wants you to consider other options without endorsing one himself.
If I look for strategy here, I would have to say he's picking away at the status quo for the moment. This could be for better coverage and campaigning for third parties, picking multiple choices on voting day, or (I really hope) moving toward the elimination of the electoral college system. I know already you like this system-I do not.

Has he advocated abolishing the electoral college? I doubt he would be in favor of that since he shares my affinity for the Constitution

That's my personal hope. He has not stated as such.

If the McCain campaign has to ask for an endorsement, perhaps it is not deserved.

An endorsement should come without request.

Interesting point, Jimbo.

Venturing off topic a bit, do you feel that the existence of Congress thwarts the legislative will of the people?

If I get time, I may do a post on why I think the electoral college is so brilliant.

Not sure if that's to me exactly, but my answer is no.

I really look forward to reading this.
