How a hyphen can divide America.

So all this time it's been the hyphen?!? And here I thought it was ignorance and hate. Thanks Duke.

I think the Duke was sick during WWII.

John Wayne tried to enlist during WW2, but was rejected because he was too old at that point. Ignorance and hate huh? You sure wouldn't have any of those traits towards conservatives sometimes now would you?

Well, he was born in 1907 and the war ended in 1945. That would have made him about 33 when the war started and 38 when it ended. You're right. That's way too old to fight. Isn't the limit like 43 today?

Well it depends on who you listen to. Of course libs want to destroy John Wayne's image because he was always against them. All that is a matter of record and fact is that he was, classified as 3-A (family deferment. He was 34 after Pearl Harbor and he did make inquiries toward enlistment.

I bet he could have kicked your sissy but any day of the week. I'm smiling.

I don't think anyone cares Tim. The guy's been dead for almost 30 years.

Chickenhawk diplomacy. I'm smiling too.

You posted the vids of the Duke, Tim. I'm with spock here, we didn't care beforehand and while you're trying to use his quotes as some sort of propaganda, don't get upset if some of us aren't buying it.

If you want to test his message for 'greatness', pretend somebody who wasn't him was saying them instead. Maybe a plumber or the clerk at your comic shop.

But the backdrops peel and the sets give way and the cast get eaten by the play, there's a murderer at the matinee, there are dead men in the aisles

And the patrons and the actors too are uncertain if the show is through and with sidelong looks await their cue, but the frozen mask just smiles

Jesus what a terrible actor. No wonder you like Bruce Willis and the like.

You are a terrible actor spockman. Admit it, a speech from John Wayne gives you a lump in your throat and a tear in your eye. Unless of course you really are as communistic as you try to act.

Whew, I thought you were gonna say Barney Fife. Or even worse, Bonnie Frank.

Barney Fife was trying to be funny. Barney Frank is sadly funny with all our money.
