Political Discussion / Politics / Politics and Entertainment / O'Reilly Factor: WHAT!? Perry Mason Gay!!

Posted:  26 Oct 2008 18:17
I saw this on the O'Reilly Factor Friday night. According to the video you can watch at the link posted below, Raymond Burr, famous for the role as Perry Mason, and the star of Godzilla: King of the Monsters, is gay. I couldn't believe it! I never would have guessed that.

Godzilla should've ate him.

Why would this matter to any of us at all?

Oh I don't know. Are you a fan of Perry Mason? If so, it would.

I wish these modern day stars would keep their private lives to themselves instead of parading their dirty laundry for all to see. That includes everybody.

You'd think these Hollywood types would be embarrassed to say I love so so forever only to be divorced 2 seconds later.

The Perry Mason thing is kind of a hint of what kind of mentality Hollywood has always had in behind the scenes. Even when the shows seemed old fashioned and wholesome, a lot of these guys were really not.

Makes me think about the old preachers that sounded so alarmist back in the day preaching on the wickedness of the television and movies. Maybe they were on to something even back then.

Can you imagine what this country would be like without tv and movies? I admit I love tv and movies. I'm an addict, but I wonder what kind of society we'd live in morally if Hollywood didn't exist. It's been a continuous stream of propaganda coming into America's living room for decades now.

Something to ponder.

I love movies and tv too, and I agree life sure would be different without them. I think that one of the biggest influences on young people is television. They see people on the big screen cussing a lot, sleeping around, blaspheming, participating in gang activities, and recently shows and movies have included gay characters. Kids begin to think this stuff is "cool" and they start doing it too.

Now I understand when you have a bad guy or some Godless individual in a movie, he tends to cuss, sleep around, and possibily participate in gang activities, but when you make the good guy (who is portrayed as righteous or just) do these things too, I don't like it. And as for blashemphy, like GD, leave it out totally. I don't even want the villain saying that.

If you don't like something, change the channel.

Please don't promote censorship as protection for anyone.

Sometimes I do change the channel. But the program I'm watching should not be so bad that I would have to do that.

I had a lengthy response to this but I'd like to see topics stay on topic from here on.

If anyone would like to discuss censorship or entertainment or regulation, please join me in another thread for that discussion.

Did anyone have another comment about Raymond Burr?

Since when did you become boss...? Last time I checked Tim was Administrator.

No, no more comments about Burr (from me anyway). I already let off my steam.

That wasn't me being bossy, that was me not contributing to going off topic anymore. Sorry for the confusion.
